CREATIVE

Coaching is a process of discovery. Your coach won’t collude with you, letting you go round in the same circle of thoughts you’ve been stuck with, but will challenge you to step beyond your current thinking to see things from a new perspective.

Just like an artist, who shows us familiar things from a new viewpoint, or through a different lens, the new perspective makes space for creativity.

Living is a creative process, and coaching will help you tap into your creativity in new ways. Strengths, patterns and gaps emerge and new links, insights and opportunities come to light.

VECTORS

A vector is a term from maths and physics that has direction and magnitude and is illustrated with an arrow and a number. In coaching, you need to know where you are now and where you want to be. Mapping those two points gives a direction that could be thought of as an arrow pointing to the future.

A vector’s magnitude is traditionally a measure of a force, like acceleration. In coaching terms, the force that will move you in the direction you want to go in is your motivation, courage and your internal and external resources.

After coaching you should have a clear understanding of what you want and how you are going to get it. That’s your vector.

COACHING

Having coaching is like going on an outdoor adventure with a trusted assistant who is there for you with a backpack full of useful kit and some nature craft, but without their own agenda:

Coaching Delivers:

Listening: Skilled and empathetic listening that helps you see what’s there, what’s missing and what needs to change

Feedback: Respectful and disinterested feedback – what others maybe won’t tell you

Development: Working with strengths and deficits, raising your skills and knowledge

Partnership: Being a critical thinking partner, helping to identify smart goals and gathering resources

Support: Maintaining support as you try things, maintaining focus, evaluating progress and refining plans.
